Meet Adam

Adam is a derivatives and options trader. As a trading coach, he is known for his straightforward teaching process and specializes in the back-side long strategy.

Adam holds degrees in Business Administration and Finance. In college, he was selected to join the Wildcat Investment Value Fund, entrusted with growing a portion of the university’s endowment. He has worked with numerous Financial Advisors and Portfolio Managers over the past six years.

Originally from the East Coast, Adam comes from a large family, shaping him into the family man he is today. When not spending time with his family, he is with his close friends, enjoying nights out in the city, taking ski trips, or watching “the game”. For him, making memories with the people he cares most about is paramount.

Adam enjoys hiking and spending time on the water, finding peace in these activities. Being a dog lover, these environments provide wonderful memories with his furry friend Zeus, a 135 lb Rottweiler.

Adam’s day trading journey

Adam first heard about trading during his senior year of high school, drawn to the lifestyle, cars, and freedom. He was instantly hooked and knew networking with the best was crucial for success. Through hard work and trial and error, he gradually built his skillset. Focusing more on the process than the product, he quickly elevated his trading game. Adam considers himself an avid learner, continuously honing his skills.

Tell us about your style of trading and anything unique that you specialize in.

Adam is an opportunity trader. He believes there is always an asset class offering the best risk-to-reward ratio for your capital. He specializes in identifying these opportunities and then implementing his strategy to create high-accuracy setups. Adam is primarily a long-bias trader, focusing on large-cap companies, but he also takes advantage of shorts when markets are uncertain. His favorite long setup is the BSL (Back Side Long), which he implements in both day and swing trades.

What was one of your biggest/hardest trading losses, and what did you learn from it?

Adam's biggest trading loss stemmed from a lack of knowledge about how Option contracts work and the risks associated with them. This loss taught him that bag-holding is not a viable mindset. The loss occurred from an Options position that shifted from worthless OTM to ITM, exercising him on an amount greater than the value of his entire account. From that point, understanding an instrument fully before committing capital became his top priority.

Tell us about one of your most successful trades or trading days

One of Adam's most successful trades came in early 2022. As tensions rose between Ukraine and Russia, he realized two major commodities, Oil and Wheat, could be affected. He chose to invest in Exxon Mobile ($XOM) and the Wheat ETF ($WEAT). As expected, both commodities faced major supply hits, resulting in sharp price increases. Through monthly option contracts, Adam amassed over a 1000% return on both trades.

How did you become connected with Humbled Trader, and why did you decide to join the team?

Adam first connected with the Humbled Trader back in 2016, meeting through their mentor's community. After completing his degree in Finance and returning to full-time trading, they reconnected to teach the lessons that led to their success.
