Lucas’ Story

Lucas has been trading since January 2019. He was drawn to our coaches’ vast experience and ease of accessibility. Lucas is a short biased trader, but since joining he’s gotten better at going long and improving his risk management.

I've been trading since January 2019 and during this time I've been a member of two other different services. After my first year I started to find some consistency but my biggest problem was always giving back weeks of profits in one or two trades. To be honest, I knew that something was wrong but I thought that was something that everyone had to go through. I tried reaching the mods from the other services that I was a member of but they were consistently busy with other members and messages were often ignored. This was one of the reasons that made me start to look for a new mentor and group of people to trade.

I found Shay on Youtube and loved her videos and her sense of humor. Since I was already looking for a new place to go, I decided to give her a shot and see how the room was. It was a great surprise to meet different coaches with different styles and learn from them. Something that I found here is that you can basically reach any of the coaches 24/7. This constant contact upped my game a lot and I'm a better trader because of them. I'm a short biased trader but since joining I've been getting better at going long and my risk management is way better.

What I love about the community is that the members are professionals and at the same time welcoming. Trading full-time is great, but sometimes it gets lonely and it's nice to reach out to other members to exchange ideas, charts, and executions. It's a safe place to be, and I find it great to have people that are at different levels of their trading journey in the room. Everyone is supportive and there is no place for nonsense mumbo jumbo like in the other rooms that I was part of.

Shay has helped me in a lot of ways but the most important thing that I learned since joining the HT community was how to prioritize risk management, not trade P&L and how to respect the process. I still struggle cutting losses on grinding stocks when short but the important thing, in my opinion, is that my green days are getting greener and my red days are getting smaller. I still give back but my risk management is getting better everyday.
