Smart, forthright, and selfless, Orane Carby wears many hats. He’s a part-time Swing Trader, Marketing & Business Expert, Entrepreneur, and a Private Equity Investor.
After attending an investment summit, Orane fell in love with the rewards of trading, such as working from home and a higher pay scale than a traditional 9-5. He later dropped out of college to pursue his various entrepreneurial ventures.
Born in the Caribbean, Orane manages a financial education company that has impacted an estimated 1000+ lives to date, creating a few millionaires and retiring many.
Orane is currently a partner to Humbled Trader Inc.
Orane’s day trading journey
Born in the the Caribbean, Orane attended the University of Technology in Kingston, Jamaica, where he began pursuing an associate degree in Land Surveying and Geographic Information Technology.
While in college, Orane attended an investment summit which is where he fell in love with the rewards of trading such as working from home and a higher pay scale than a traditional 9-5.
He later began skipping classes to study the stock market & place trades in the computer labs.
With a desire to become his own boss and not working paycheck to paycheck, he later dropped out of college saying, “College is a means to an end; not a necessity and it wasn’t a necessity to what I wanted to accomplish in life.”
After dropping out of college, Orane worked for a call center as a customer service representative handling ASUS electronic device issues while trading part-time. But, he was always more interested in investing himself.
After blowing through 3 trading accounts, Orane finally found real consistency with patience, discipline, and risk management.

Armed with consistency, Orane began to attract outside capital and became a Fund Manager for friends and family. This later led him to his very own “BIG SHORT” if you have seen the movie of the company Helios and Matheson Analytics Inc. (ticker: “HMNY”) from 35/ps to 2/ps.
“HMNY was once the hottest stock to own as everyone thought that the project “Moviepass” was going to be the next Netflix. However, though everyone wanted to own the stock, I wanted to short the stock as the business model was flawed. The company business model was based on charging $15 to 21/mo to gain access to as many movie tickets as you’d like. I questioned, How can you make any money if you’ll have to buy all those tickets, and supply them to ALL the members at that low cost given the cost of 1 movie ticket? Imagine 1 person getting two tickets per day which works out to be around 56 tickets per month for one person at $15/mo. This business model to me was flawed so I shorted the company saying it should go to zero.”

In his spare time, Orane loves cooking recently discovered recipes and wandering unknown places. He also reads a lot; A LOT! A new book each week to be exact. Never read a book he didn’t like. However, his best book year to date is “Trade the Trader by Quint Tatro.”
